Babysitter’s Training is designed for youth and provides participants the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school aged children. This course offers an exciting new activity-based format, addresses safety issues, prevention of injury and illness, basic childcare, first aid, decision-making skills and age appropriate behavior and play.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 11 yrs old by end of course
Learn to recognize the signals of an emergency in your pet. Learn how to care for choking, bleeding, broken bones, heat and cold related emergencies and how to safely approach, and move, an injured pet. Learn to recognize breathing related emergencies and practice CPR and other skills on a realistic, life-size, pet manikin.
DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO CLASS. (4 HRS)
Designed to introduce children ages 8-10 safety information and first aid procedures. This class will teach basic skills and knowledge necessary for children to identify and prevent potentially harmful situations, to be able to treat common injuries and to respond in emergencies.
The Family Caregiving Program helps families take on the responsibility and challenges of caring for a loved one at home. The nine one-hour modules include: Home Safety, General Caregiving Skills, Positioning and Helping Your Loved One Move, Assisting with Personal Care, Healthy Eating, Caring for the Caregiver, Financial and Legal Issues, Caring for a Loved One with Alzheimer.s Disease or Dementia and Caring for Loved One with HIV/AIDS.
